Discernment: Your Greatest Defense in a Noisy World

I want to talk about discernment.

This is something that’s been on my mind for a while, and something that recently came up in conversation with a dear friend. Discernment is a practice I already value and use, but now, it’s something I truly want to master.

And usually, when something keeps showing up for me like this, I know I’m not alone.

Whether you’re exploring spiritual realms, working with guides, channeling, or simply navigating everyday life—news, social media, influencers, relationships—discernment is essential.

We live in a time where not everything is as it seems. And while that’s unfortunate, it’s also the reality we’re in.

So much of what we consume carries an agenda. News that pulls you toward one side or another. Influencers feeding curated narratives. Fake Instagram accounts pretending to be someone you trust, reaching out to tell you they “sense” you need a reading if you just send them money. TikTok promises of instant wealth if you buy the right course. Or, on a more subtle level, energies that mask themselves as guides or benevolent beings.

None of this is meant to scare you.

It’s meant to empower you.

It’s 2026. Most of us have just come through one hell of a year—maybe several. Enough is enough. No more manipulation. No more nonsense. No more giving our power away because something looks shiny, sounds convincing, or feels emotionally charged.

Each of us has the ability to rise above this.

And I truly believe discernment is the key.

Yes, we have a responsibility to manage, clear, and protect our energy. There are many tools for that, and I use them too. But the deepest and truest form of protection isn’t another technique—it’s discernment.

So what does that actually mean?

We are spirit having a human experience. And part of being human is having an ego. The ego relies heavily on our human senses. Just because something looks good, sounds good, or feels exciting doesn’t mean it’s aligned—or true.

Discernment asks us to step out of ego and into neutrality. To drop out of the head and into the heart. To perceive not through fear or desire, but through presence.

Discernment is less about thinking and more about feeling.

What does it feel like when you tune in through the heart—through consciousness, through your soul?

  • Does your body tense?

  • Does your heart tighten?

  • Do you feel anxious, pressured, or subtly unsettled?

  • Or do you feel calm?

  • Warmth spreading through your chest?

  • A sense of openness, ease, or quiet clarity?

Discernment helps you recognize whether something is aligned for you. Whether it resonates or whether something feels off—even if you can’t immediately explain why.

And this is where questioning becomes sacred.

  • Does this resonate?

  • Is this aligned with my highest good?

  • What is the intention here?

  • Does this feel like truth?

  • How does this person, place, or energy feel to me?

  • Show me your true energy.

And then notice.

  • How does your body respond?

  • What happens in your heart?

There is no being, no energy, no person that can fake frequency, vibration, or pure unconditional love. They can mimic words, aesthetics, even emotions—but not coherence.

Your body knows.

Your heart knows.

They don’t lie.

They don’t manipulate.

They don’t have an agenda.

Your body and heart are your built-in truth detectors.

And yes—this takes practice. Discernment is a muscle (just like hypnosis is). The more you use it, the clearer it becomes. The more you ignore it, the quieter it gets.

But here’s the most important part:

No one can discern for you. And you cannot discern for anyone else.

This is where true empowerment lives.

Don’t give your power away to anyone who claims to know better than you. Instead, learn to trust yourself. Learn to listen. Learn to pause before you say yes, before you believe, before you follow.

Your energy is sacred.

Manage it.

Clear it.

Protect it.

But above all—discern.

If this landed for you—if you needed this as much as I did—I’d truly love to hear about it.

Here’s to less noise, less nonsense, and more truth in 2026.

With so much love.

Julie
